6N Ranch was established in the early 1960's, Elliott and Helena Norquist put the ranch together by buying land around the Council Grove Federal Reservoir as it was being built. The Norquist developed it into a purebred cow/calf operation with over 2000 acres of Flint Hills and lakeside pastures. Chris and Sharee leased the ranch in the fall of 1983, and started developing their own Angus program. Then in the early 1990's the Sankey's had the chance to purchase the headquarters and part of 6N Ranch. With the blessings of the Norquists' the ranch was able to stay Sankey's 6N Ranch.

With intensive A.I. we started building a functional productive cow herd that would survive primarily on grass in the Flint Hills. We were producing cattle that had growth, substance, and plenty of eye appeal. Around 1987 Chris and Sharee started a small Brangus cow herd. They originally mated 3/4 blood bulls on low producing Angus cows. As those 1st generation Brangus cattle proved their worth in the Flint Hills, they expanded with more multi generational Brangus cattle. The purchase of a few key Herd sires over the years has laid the foundation and propelled our cow herd to produce numerous National Champions, two IBBA show heifers, and three IBBA show bulls of the year. Our most recent success being 2003 National Champion and Show bull of the year Sankey's Revolution 860K, a 5th generation bull with a revolutionary phenotype that is line bred to our first National Champion herd sire BBI Exacto 55W3 (Jake).

Now building an Angus cowherd that is reaching our goal of eye appeal, productive cattle that will be successful in the show ring. With a few key additions along the way, we have been able to produce cattle that have been able to compete and be successful at a national level in the Angus show ring. We have intensified our focus on our Angus cattle, continuing to build on the phenotype of cattle that we desire.
